Node Editor

The Node Editor is the right-hand panel in the Model Editor where individual nodes are configured. It controls how a node behaves, how its values are displayed and aggregated, and whether it is accessible to users in simulation workspaces.

This section covers the settings and actions available in the Node Editor — from basic display options to simulation and export configuration.

What you'll find in this section

  • Node Actions — how to select, copy, move, delete, and search for nodes in a model

  • Units — how to assign display labels (such as EUR or km) to node values

  • Aggregation Settings — how to control how node values are summarized across dimensions, including display and calculation aggregation types

  • Advanced Node Settings — how to configure connector visibility, node coloring, and export inclusion

  • Allow Simulation of Nodes — how to mark nodes as editable in simulation workspaces

Who this section is for

This section is relevant for model builders who are building or maintaining models in the Model Editor. It becomes relevant as soon as a model moves beyond initial setup and nodes need to be fine-tuned for presentation, calculation accuracy, or simulation use.

How this section fits into Valsight

The Node Editor works alongside the Model Editor canvas and the Formula Editor. Once nodes are configured here, their behavior is reflected across simulation workspaces, charts, and exports throughout the application.
