understand why certain behaviors appear in the model
narrow down where to look when model behavior seems unclear
Modeling and documentation
Use the assistant when you want help phrasing, summarizing, or documenting model logic.
It can help you:
draft descriptions for nodes or model sections

explain modeling logic in simpler language
suggest how to document technical structures more clearly
What the AI uses to answer questions
The Valsight AI Assistant builds its answers from non-numeric, descriptive information available in Valsight, including:
model and submodel structure, node types, and relationships
annotations such as sticky notes, frames, and descriptions
dimensions and levels
formulas and syntax
data table names, column names, and metadata
Model changes are reflected immediately in the AI context.
What the AI cannot access or do
To preserve data privacy and correctness, the Valsight AI Assistant does not have access to:
numeric values or calculated results
historical data values
external systems outside Valsight
personal credentials
projects beyond your permissions
The Valsight AI Assistant also cannot:
modify models, data, or scenarios
perform actions in Valsight on your behalf
replace business review or modeling judgment
How to ask better questions
You will usually get better answers when your question is specific and includes the context you care about.
Instead of: Explain this node.
Try: Explain how the node 'XXX' is calculated and highlight the most important drivers.
Instead of: Help me document this model.
Try: Draft a short model overview I can use for internal handover.
Instead of: Explain this project.
Try: Explain how the models in this project are connected and where I should start reviewing.
Important to keep in mind
AI-generated responses are informational and should always be validated against your business knowledge and modeling intent.
The assistant works best when your model contains clear names, descriptions, and annotations.
