Add Nodes to a Model

This guide shows you how to add nodes to an empty model canvas so you can start building the basic structure of your model.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Open the model.
Make sure the model you want to edit is open and the canvas is visible.

  2. Start adding a node.
Select the Node button in the action bar.

  3. Place the node on the canvas.
Move your cursor to the desired position and click to place the node.
You can place multiple nodes in succession while the placement mode is active.
To cancel placement, right-click or press Esc.

  4. Select the newly placed node.
Click the node on the canvas to open the node editor.

  5. Set the node name.
Enter a clear and unique name in the node editor (for example, Revenue).

  6. (Optional) Add a description.
Enter a short description to clarify the node’s purpose.

  7. Review and adjust the unit.
Check the Unit section and change it if the default unit does not match the node’s meaning.

  8. Repeat for additional nodes.
Add further nodes as needed (for example, Price and Volume) using the same steps.

Result

The model canvas now contains multiple nodes. Each node appears as a separate element and can be selected and edited individually.
